Fat Injections/ Fat Grafting

Fat injections can be an effective way to reduce wrinkles, reduce acne scarring, and regain a more youthful appearance. Fat Injections or Fat Grafting is the technique of moving fat from one area of the body to another to improve contour, correct defects or enhance features.

How does it work?
The fat cells taken from one part of your own body are injected back into the desired area such as the cheeks, lips or chin replenishing the skins collagen layer, smoothing lines and wrinkles and plumping out the treated area.

What areas can be treated?
The most common areas for treatment are frown lines and crows feet. They can help fill out deep facial wrinkles, creases and furrows, sunken cheeks, skin depressions and some types of scars. They can also be used to add a fuller, more sensuous look to the lips.

How is the treatment performed?
A fat-injection procedure is a two-step process. First the donor site is cleansed and then anesthetised. Then fat is harvested through a liposuction canula (tube) from the abdomen, hips, thigh or inner knee region. The harvested fat once aspirated is washed in saline to remove damaged fat cells prior to injection. Once treated the fat cells are then injected with a small syringe into the desired locations such as the cheeks, under the eyes, the lips, or around the mouth and lips.

How long does the fat injections last?
The long lastingness of the fat injections varies significantly with each individual patient. Some patients have reported results lasting a year or more, but the majority of patients find that at least half of the injected fullness disappears within 3-6 months. Repeated injections may, therefore, be necessary,
How long will the treatment and recovery take?
The treatment usually takes about 90 minutes depending on how many injections are needed to achieve your goals. You should be able to leave the same day that you have the treatment. Recovery time will depend on the extent of the procedure but normally is a week to 10 days. Patients can usually return to work within a few days to a week.

BOTOX (WRINKLE RELAXING INJECTIONS)

Deep wrinkles such as frown lines between the eyes, forehead lines and crows feet are caused by overactive muscle movement which gradually wear away the collagen in the skin, causing the skin to crease and wrinkles to appear. Botox relaxes these muscles, preventing the formation of wrinkles and smoothing out lines.

The Treatment with Botox
The Medical & Laser Center Aesthetica is pleased to confirm that only Botox by the manufacturer Allergan will be used in our clinic and that it will only be administered by physicians who have been fully trained in its use. Our Medical Director was the first person in Switzerland to use Botox for cosmetic purposes and therefore has a vast experience in it.

How does Botox work?
Botox, a muscle relaxant, is injected directly into the wrinkles, which temporarily relaxes the facial muscles and prevents the formation of wrinkles. Therefore Botox softens existing lines. The treatment with Botox has been used on over 1 million patients worldwide for more than 11 years and is supported by a wealth of long-term safety data.

How long will the effect of Botox last?
The treatment generally takes 5-8 days to work and last between 3-4 months (this varies from patient to patient depending on your strength of expression) With repeated treatments as advised by your physician the effects tend to last longer over time.

Obagi Blue Peel

After years of development and testing, Obagi has created an innovative physician-administered chemical peel. Using a low concentration of the chemical trichloroacetic acid (TCA) mixed with a special blue base to slow penetration, the the Blue Peel allows your doctor to monitor the appropriate depth to effectively remove the thin surface layers of aged and damaged skin from the face or other parts of the body.

Administered correctly, a chemical peel (or series of them) will smooth the surface of your skin, improve your skin tone and colour, diminish wrinkles and shrink blood vessels and pore size.
The Obagi Blue Peel, if repeated over a period of time, can achieve the same result as a deeper chemical peel or a laser. Healing occurs usually in just 7-10 days.

Mikro-Peeling

Microdermabrasion is a quick, non-invasive procedure used to resurface the skin. It is sometimes called a “lunchtime peel. This relatively new procedure gently removes only the very top layers of damaged skin by “sand blasting” them with tiny crystals.

It is usually performed on the face and neck, but can be performed on any part of the body (such as the backs of the hands).

Microdermabrasion can correct rough skin texture, some types of scarring, uneven pigmentation, and age (liver) spots. It can also remove or improve whiteheads and black heads, some stretch marks, and fine wrinkles. By removing superficial layers of the skin, microdermabrasion allows new skin to appear. In fact, this procedure even stimulates the growth of new skin cells. Microdermabrasion can be used for all skin types and skin tones. For best results, it can be repeated as often as once a week.
